The Delhi government has proposed a policy to pay all hospital expenses of road crashes, burns and acid victims. It has further been approved by the state cabinet.
The state cabinet under the chairmanship of Arvind Kejriwal proposed this 'Accident Victim' policy on tuesday. The scheme needs approval from the lieutenant Governor.
The policy was framed to reach out a helping hand to all those victims who lose their life to road accidents, burns and acid attacks. In case of accidents, too much time is wasted to locate a government hospital at the expense of a victim's life. The aim of the scheme is to save as many lives as possible as stated by Health minister, Satyender Jain.
The government kept no upper limit to hospital expenses and all victims are eligible to avail free treatment in any private hospital of Delhi if the accident takes place in Delhi. The private hospitals are directed to keep records of the victims and treatment provided to them, expenses will be paid off by the government after verification.
